CBC (Vinci Construction France) - ENS Paris-Saclay, Gif sur Yvette, 91
The former Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) Cachan is going to join the prestigious and innovative Saclay Plateau campus in Gif-sur-Yvette.
The new ENS Paris-Saclay building is due to open its doors at the beginning of the academic year in 2019. All the activities currently conducted on the Cachan site are going to move to the Saclay Plateau. Approximately 2,200 students are expected to be there, with teachers, researchers and technical and administrative staff bringing the total to around 3,000 people. ENS Paris-Saclay provides training for researchers and teachers, and for all public and private sector jobs requiring a high degree of scientific expertise.
Kaliti assists CBC, a subsidiary of Vinci Construction, in the structural works inspection phase of the 60,000 m² project, in which the building is designed by the architecture firm Renzo Piano Building Workshop. It is organised around a large interior garden and comprises several open areas on the rest of the campus, including a concert hall, a university restaurant and a 500-seat auditorium shared with CentraleSupélec and Université Paris-Sud.
The first stone was laid in March 2017 and the School will be able to open its doors to its first students at the beginning of the academic year in 2019 after more than two years of work.
