SPIE BATIGNOLLES Sud-Est - SUPERGRID project, Villeurbanne (69)

Contexte :

Spie Batignolles Sud-Est has signed a new contract with the SuperGrid Institute (which conducts research into technologies for future electricity transport networks) in Villeurbanne for the construction of a building designed for conducting tests at very high powers. To assist them in this €4.2 million project, Kaliti was chosen to manage the phases from land use ratio inspections through to Acceptance/Completion Guarantee.

This civil engineering work is complex: it is a cubical structure with sides measuring 25 metres which must be able to withstand high stresses (explosions and projections).

This 5,560 m² research building comprises administrative offices and research platforms, laboratories (including a clean room) and large 17 m high assembly and test halls.

The delivery of the work is scheduled for January 2018.

What is the SuperGrid Institute ?

The SuperGrid Institute was created in 2014 by twelve shareholders from the electricity sector in France (representing industry, institutions and research and education bodies) after the project was selected in calls for projects launched by the State in 2012.

Dedicated to research in the area of technologies for future electrical energy transport networks, the SuperGrid Institute, whose main shareholders are General Electric, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, Nexans, Alstom Transport, Vettiner and EDF, obtained financial support of 86.6 million Euros from the Agence Nationale pour la Recherche, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region and the Lyon metropolitan authority, after approval by the European Commission.
